Our Mission - Helping Industry To Meet Welding Codes and Standards
Fischer Engineering Company has been providing welding engineering, testing products and services to fabricators, manufacturers and laboratories since 1976. Our products, including weld bend testers, weld tensile testers and welding coupons, are used throughout the United States and by many countries around the world.
All of our products are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of industry welding codes and standards such as ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1 through D1.6 and B2.1, API 1104, and AMS-STD-1595 to name a few.
Take a look at our site to see how we can help you improve your welding program.
The following are recent developments at FECo or additions to our site:
Fillet Weld Testers have a new Guard
We make bend testers for testing fillet welds. The standard Air/Hand driven Model FWT1-AH is shown to the right. An Electric Pump driven Model FWT1-E is also available. If you need to test fillet welds, call or email us for more information and/or a quote.
New Generation Roller Guided Bend Tester, Model BT1D
The new Model BT1D replaces the Model BT1B that we have manufactured since 1987. The BT1B is in all states of the union and in many countries around the world. While it has been our most popular bend tester, we have found ways to improve it. The new Model BT1D does everything the BT1B did and more. It is easier to adjust and weighs less. New Yield Point Calculator for the Model TT1 Tensile Tester
Model TT1 Tensile Testers can now be used to test base metal properties. The new TT1-YP Yield Point Option includes an ASTM Class B1 extensometer, computer and software to automatically determine the yield point at 0.2% offset. The elongation can also be determined using simple tools. To see this new option, click here.
Plate Bend Specimen Cutting System Fits Conventional Vertical Band Saws
Our Plate Bend Specimen Cutting Fixtures can be purchased for use with existing vertical band saws that have at least 14 inches unsupported blade height and, preferably, hydraulic or air table feed. To see the details on these and our other Bend Specimen Cutting Systems, click here.
Super Coupons available in SA-106B or SA-36
If you need to qualify your welders for all thicknesses and for ASME, then the super welding coupons will allow you to do so with just one coupon size. We offer them in either SA-106B or SA-36. To learn more about super coupons, click here.
Coupon Photo Updates
We have added a recent photo of our range of our standard welding coupons. We have also added a photo of 24" Schedule XH welding coupons we provided for a special project. They were machined to simulate the exact condition to be confronted by the welders. Each coupon weighed about 140 pounds. To view these photos, click here.
